What We Seem To Do Every Year
Frivolous Readings
Every Year in September a great crowd gathers in the Chapin lounge to watch the Chapin faculty present some poetry and prose
of a light-hearted nature. This is the one you hear about all the time.

The Chapin Formal
Something between a high-school dance, and a ritzy banquet. Always held in a great location (i.e. the 66th floor of the Sears Tower, and
in the Chicago Winter Garden) in May and is the first responsibility of the newly elected social chairs. It starts off with a dinner the likes of which you don't get in Saga, and proceeds into some great dancing.
Don't worry, no tux or date necessary.
The BBQ,
Sponsored by the Newsletter Chairs, the Chapin BBQ is held usually after the formal in Chapin's back yard. We get a grill, and we cook
some meat (with a vegetarian alternative). Enough said.
 BBQ '98
The Baseball Excursion
After the Ed Muir and Paul Breslin fireside, those who signed up for tickets el it down to Wrigley Field (one of those classic stadiums) to
watch the Chicago Cubs play ball. The Baseball Experience at its finest.

The Halloween Fireside
Barbara Newman and Richard Kiekhefer of the Religion Dept. present a great little spooky fireside.
The Faculty Banquet
Near the beginning of the year we all acquaint and reacquaint ourselves with the Chapin faculty by dining around Evanston somewhere.
It's a good getting-to-know-the-faculty sort of thing.

Munchies
Right around the hump of the week everyone takes a little time off from studying to come on down to the lounge to enjoy MUNCHIES.
Sponsored by the social committee, there's almost always a fun theme. Sometimes, it's a really big deal with dressing up appropriately
and so forth. Sometimes it's just a quick jaunt downstairs for some food. Always worth it, though.
